The MBA wants three years of managerial work

You must also have at least three years postgraduate work experience at the point of application. Surrey specifies that it has to be managerial: managing people, projects or budgets, rather than three years in any job.

Every fee, length and start month above was read off that course’s own page on 29 August 2026.

Fees by intake

Your fee is set by your course, and the spread here is wider than most. Almost every course also starts in February.

Fees rise 4% for each further year of study

If you take the two-year placement route, the second year is not charged at the first year’s rate. Surrey raises fees by 4% for each subsequent year, so budget for the increase rather than doubling the figure above.

The placement year

Surrey is the most flexible university on this site about the placement year, and the flexibility has a price attached.

Switching between the placement year and non-placement year versions of your programme is a simple process and can be done at any point in time before 31 August

Put that against the others. Chester makes an international applicant choose one year or two at the point of application and does not let them change, because the choice is in the visa paperwork. Sheffield Hallam says the same on its Global MBA. Surrey lets you move either way, right up to the end of August.

Two things temper it. If you switch down from the placement version, there is no refund of the fee difference you have already paid. And the second year costs 4% more than the first.

What Surrey does not publish is what happens if you stay on the placement route and never find a placement. The switch is documented; the failure is not.

What it asks of you

Surrey runs a dedicated India page, and its academic bar moves with your institution.

60% or 65% for a course needing a 2:1, depending on where you studied.
There is a published route without IELTS.
The academic requirement, and why it is two numbers

For a course that asks for a UK 2:1, Surrey wants 60% or 65% overall, and which of the two applies depends on the institution you graduated from. It publishes a lower bar again for courses that ask for a 2:2.

Surrey does not publish the list of which institutions sit at 60%, so this is a question to put to admissions with your own university named, rather than something you can settle from the page.

What a week looks like

Surrey publishes assessment methods per course and no percentage split at masters level.

Its course pages describe the shape of the teaching rather than the marks: the Artificial Intelligence masters, for instance, says its modules are complemented by software-based laboratory sessions. That tells you how you will spend the week; it does not tell you how much of the grade is an exam.

Getting here: Stag Hill is situated close to the Guildford mainline train station, and Surrey says you can walk it. Guildford is about 35 minutes from London Waterloo.

What nobody publishes

  • QS World University Rankings 2026 position - the topuniversities.com profile now shows only the 2027 edition (=246, which I did verify on the page). The 2026 edition figure was not retrievable; topuniversities.com blocks fetch tools via Cloudflare and the.
  • Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter acceptance - Surrey publishes a 12th-board-English-marks route for Indian applicants but never mentions MOI letters, so MOI acceptance is genuinely not published.
  • Backlogs or arrears policy - nothing published on the India entry requirements page.
  • Coursework vs exam percentage split at PGT level - Surrey publishes assessment methods in prose but no weighting percentages.
  • What happens to a student who remains on the two-year placement route and fails to secure a placement - Surrey publishes the elective switch-off process (before 31 August, via a Programme Transfer form, no visa invalidation, no fee refund), which is more than.

The official record

  • Student Sponsor - Track Record on the Student route. gov.uk, Register of licensed sponsors: students, as of 21 August 2026.
  • Approved (fee cap) with the Office for Students, degree-awarding powers since 1966. Office for Students, Register of English higher education providers, downloaded 24 August 2026.
  • 1 year, 2 years with placement are the published course lengths. Read off the course pages.
