The University of Law

They are not taught here. ULaw runs its MBA and its Business School masters at Birmingham, Leeds, London Moorgate, Manchester and Online. Moorgate is its other London campus, about two miles east at EC1Y 8HQ. Bloomsbury teaches law, computing, data, psychology and criminology, and that is the whole list above.

If you do apply for the MBA elsewhere, one thing is worth knowing, because it is unusual: ULaw does not ask for work experience. The standard entry route is “a UK Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a minimum of a 2:2, or equivalent qualifications”.

Most courses here ask for a degree in a related area. MA Law (Conversion) is the exception, and it is the reason the conversion route exists:

An undergraduate degree at 2:2 or above in any discipline (or equivalent)

ULaw prints every fee twice. Once plain, and once net of an International Bursary. MSc Computing reads “£17,500 (or £16,000 including a £1,500 International Bursary*)”. The rows above carry the plain figure, because the bursary is conditional. ULaw’s own asterisk says terms and conditions apply, and the plain figure is what you are invoiced by default.

Where it does apply it is £1,500 on six of the seven MScs, £1,000 on MSc Psychology (Conversion), £2,500 on the LLM and £1,000 on the two MA Law routes. The £250 deposit is already inside every figure above, not on top of it.

ULaw sets its fees by location, not by campus. Every course page prints a London figure and a lower one for outside London, so MSc Computing is £17,500 here and £16,500 at Leeds. Same course, same university, £1,000 apart.

That matters more here than at most universities, because ULaw teaches at eighteen locations and several of the courses above also run at Moorgate. Check which location you are applying to before you compare the price.

If your degree was taught and assessed in English, ULaw can accept it in place of a language test:

For certain Postgraduate courses, the University also accepts degrees from recognised institutions from countries in the table below. Applicants must provide official evidence that their degree was taught and assessed in English.

Read the table before you rely on it. For India it opens Postgraduate Business and Postgraduate Computer Science only, and the degree must be no more than five years old. It does not cover the LLM or either MA Law route. Those are four of the ten courses above, and the ones most people come to this university for.

Something else the document does not give you: which Indian institutions count. It says the list is set by ULaw’s Admissions and English Language Assessment team and does not publish it, so this is a question to put to them by name before you apply.

ULaw publishes no policy on backlogs, arrears or failed modules. What its entry page does say is that applications are “considered holistically” and looked at beyond the grades. That is an invitation to ask rather than an answer, and nobody should read it as a yes.

MSc Data Science and Artificial Intelligence is more specific than the rest:

The main methods of assessment are portfolios, coursework reports and presentations delivered both live and pre-recorded.

No written exam appears in that list. It is one course of the ten above, and ULaw hedges every one of these with “may include”, so it is not a rule for the others.
