Fees by intake
Your fee is set by your course. Aston runs three starts a year on almost the whole list, which is more than most universities this size.
The guaranteed internship
Aston is the only university on this site that guarantees work experience. It is real, and it is not what most people picture.
Every other university here says the same thing in different words: a placement cannot be guaranteed. Aston runs a Postgraduate Guaranteed Internship Scheme and does guarantee one. That is a genuine difference and it is why this section exists.
Now the shape of it. The guaranteed internship is part time, no more than 20 hours a week, usually around two months and ranging from one to six, and you do it alongside your taught timetable rather than instead of it.
If what you want is a year in a company on a full salary, Leicester, Surrey and Teesside sell that and none of them guarantees it. If what you want is guaranteed experience on your CV while you study, this is the one place on this site that promises it.

Aston accepts a Medium of Instruction letter from Indian applicants, which most of this site does not.
The Medium of Instruction route, and its condition
Aston publishes an MOI route for taught masters and names India in it. What it asks for is an official letter from your awarding institution stating the course was wholly delivered and assessed in English, and it attaches a further condition on top of the letter.
Northampton refuses proficiency letters outright and Bedfordshire does not accept MOI at all, so this is a real difference between three universities a reader might be holding offers from. Get the exact wording from Aston before you rely on it.
What a week looks like
Aston publishes methods per course and no university-wide split.
There are a variety of assessment methods, including exams, coursework, poster design, presentations and group work.
Exams are on that list, and they are named first. One course, the one in the drawer above, states it has no formal examinations at all, which shows the range rather than the rule.
Getting here: Aston lists Birmingham New Street, Snow Hill and Moor Street as 10-15 minutes from campus, with the Bull Street tram stop closer still. The campus is a single block in the middle of Birmingham.

- The amount of Aston’s placement-year fee. Its fees boilerplate says that “when undertaking a placement year, a placement year fee applies” and names no figure. Two numbers appear elsewhere on the site, £1,250 for home students and £2,500 for overseas ones, but we could not tie either of them to a postgraduate placement year.
- Any institution-wide postgraduate taught fee table - the 2026/27 Tuition Fee Charging Policy PDF sets withdrawal liability percentages only and contains no fee amounts
- A published coursework-versus-exam percentage split at PGT level - course pages list assessment methods in prose only
- WHAT HAPPENS IF NO PLACEMENT IS SECURED - genuinely not published anywhere I could find at Aston. This is the significant absence.
- TENSION WORTH FLAGGING - Aston's Aston Global Advantage page states, without any published conditions or exclusions, "All full-time masters students are guaranteed an industry internship, giving you real-world experience to boost your career.".
- ANY-DISCIPLINE - a second, softer example exists on Business and Management MSc: 'This dynamic and wide-ranging programme is suitable for graduates of all disciplines', but that sits in the course description rather than the entry requirements, and the same.
