If you need a visa for September 2026 entry, MSc Computer Science closes to
applications on 3 July 2026. And the university adds:
We will close applications as soon as the programme is full.
So the July date is a ceiling, not a plan. Most universities on this site keep
taking applications until the course fills and never say when that is. Birmingham says it,
which is worth more than a fortnight of hesitation.
You must have a minimum of three years’ professional experience. Usually we expect Birmingham MBA candidates to have five years professional experience.
That is the widest gap between a minimum and an expectation on this site, and
it is the university telling you what a competitive application looks like.
Every fee, length and start month above was read off that course’s own page on 29 August 2026. Eleven is a selection across subjects rather than Birmingham’s full list, which runs to hundreds.
Fees by intake
These are the highest fees on this site, and the range across subjects is wide. September carries the whole list.
Birmingham converts Indian school marks into its English requirement on a
sliding scale, which is more generous than it first looks.
Standard XII English marks can replace an English test.
The mark you need moves with the course’s IELTS level, and with your board.
The Standard XII English route, and the board you sat
Birmingham publishes a scale rather than one number. For a course needing
IELTS 7.0 it asks 85% from ISC, CBSE or Maharashtra, 80% from West Bengal,
and 90% from other state boards.
Two things follow. Your board changes the mark you need, by up to ten
points. And the requirement is tied to the course, so check your own course’s IELTS level
before reading a number off the scale.
Birmingham describes assessment in prose, per course, and publishes no split.
MSc Computer Science puts it this way:
Taught modules are assessed in a variety of ways: summer written examination, practical assessment or a mixture of both.
A summer written examination is named first. If you have been comparing
this with Teesside London, where the university states there are no exams at all, that is
the difference in one sentence.
Getting here: The centre of Edgbaston campus is a five minute walk from University station, and the train reaches Birmingham New Street in
under ten minutes. That is the figure at the top of this page.
A university-published international PGT fee range - Birmingham publishes none; the returned range is the min and max of eight course pages actually read, not an official range
QS 2026 rank directly on topuniversities.com - the site returned HTTP 403 to all automated access; the figure 76 comes from two corroborating birmingham.ac.uk statements and the edition-labelling is reconciled in the notes
Whether any 2-year PGT route with a placement or professional practice year exists - none found on the course pages read, but absence not confirmed university-wide
What happens if a student does not secure a placement - no such policy found, consistent with no PGT placement route being offered
Backlogs or arrears policy for Indian applicants - not published
Whether a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter is accepted - not published
The India-specific degree percentage or CGPA for PGT entry - the international entry requirements page defers to a country page that was not reachable in this session
The international tuition fee deposit amount and whether it is refundable - not published on the deposits page
