What the placement year adds

£1,900 a year if a placement is secured, on the 5 courses that offer one. That is an additional charge, not a second year of tuition.

Read it on the Computer Science page

Full-time PGT international (overseas), per year. The MBA is the one course above this band, at £21,300.

The placement year

Five of the eight courses can run over two years, with a placement in between.

You have to find the placement yourself, and you have until the end of your first semester. If it does not come, Coventry puts you on a simulated version on campus rather than leaving you without one:

If you do not secure your professional placement by the time you have finished your first semester, you will automatically progress with the simulated on-campus practice experience.

Securing one adds £1,900 a year. That is a charge on top of the course fee, not a second year of tuition.

What it asks of you

Coventry publishes a separate entry requirement for India. This is it.

60% in a three-year degree, or 55% in a four-year one.
There is a route without IELTS.
The full requirement
Students must achieve 60% in a three year undergraduate degree, or 55% in a four year undergraduate degree.

Graduates of eleven named universities can be considered with 55% from a three-year degree: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai/Madras, Anna, Amity, Andhra Pradesh, Aligarh Muslim, Pune, Bangalore and JNTU.

For English, Coventry asks for “65% in Standard XII English language from certain examination boards only”. That includes the Central boards, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The full list of accepted boards is on its own page.

The MBA asks for work experience as well
An honours degree 2:2 or above (or international equivalent) in any discipline and at least three years’ relevant post-graduation work experience by the time you start your course.
The MBA course page

Students ask about two things constantly. Whether backlogs are accepted, and whether a Medium of Instruction letter replaces IELTS. Coventry publishes neither. Both are listed with everything else nobody publishes, at the foot of this page.

What a week looks like

Worth knowing before you accept, because it is what the fee buys in contact time.

Coventry publishes how much of your week is timetabled:

on average you will have between 8 and 12 teaching and learning hours each week

Eight to twelve hours, against £19,500 a year. Everything beyond that is your own study time.

How you are assessed

Coventry does not publish how much of a course is coursework and how much is exams. What the course pages give you is the range:

Assessment methods may include: reports, tests, essays, exams, practical coursework, assignments, viva, presentations.

What nobody publishes

  • Backlogs policy for Indian applicants - not published anywhere on coventry.ac.uk
  • Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter acceptance - never mentioned on the India/South Asia page or the English language requirements page
  • Coursework vs exam percentage split at PGT level - only a list of possible assessment methods is published, no weightings
  • Whether any PGT course sits outside the £19,500-£21,300 band - no central fee table exists, so the range is from a 7-course sample of roughly 200+ PGT courses
  • Latitude/longitude from a university or Wikipedia source - values supplied are ONS postcode centroids for CV1 5FB

The official record

  • Student Sponsor - Track Record on the Student route. gov.uk, Register of licensed sponsors: students, as of 21 August 2026.
  • Approved (fee cap) with the Office for Students, degree-awarding powers since 1992. Office for Students, Register of English higher education providers, downloaded 24 August 2026.
  • 1 year or 2 years with placement are the published course lengths. Read off the course pages.
