The MBA is the one that asks for experience
Eleven of the twelve above take you straight from a bachelor degree. The MBA does not. Teesside asks for a “minimum of two years, graduate level, full time work experience in a relevant role”.

Applicants are normally expected to have at least a second class (2:2) UK honours degree in any subject.
It is the standalone one-year version, so it is not the Advanced Practice route described further down this page.
That course pageEvery fee, length and start month above was read off that course’s own page on 29 August 2026. Teesside prints no campus field on a course page, so each one was checked in the page’s own apply link: the Middlesbrough courses and the London ones carry different course codes, and London suffixes its course name. None of the twelve above is a London course.
Fees by intake
Every taught masters here costs the same. Your subject does not move the price, and neither does your start date, so the only figure below is £17,000.
Why the fee card and the rows show different numbers
Teesside’s own international fee table runs from £16,150 to £20,000. That is the whole table: the floor is a postgraduate diploma, which is not a masters, and the ceiling is a two-year Advanced Practice award, which the university prices at £20,000 in total and describes as £10,000 a year.
Every one-year taught masters in the list above is £17,000. That is why the rows do not vary, and it is the number to plan around.
The placement year
Almost no university publishes what happens if the placement never comes. Teesside does, on at least eighteen of its course pages, in these words.
We guarantee a research internship, but cannot guarantee a vocational internship. We will, however, provide you with practical support and advice on how to find and secure your own vocational internship position should you prefer this type of internship.
Read the first eleven words again, because they are doing the work. A research internship is guaranteed. A vocational one, the kind with a company and a salary that people picture when they hear “placement year”, is not.
That is not a penalty and you are not moved off the award. Teesside describes the Advanced Practice semester as “an internship, research or study abroad experience”, so research is one of the legitimate ways through it rather than a consolation. Its Two Year Master’s page puts the same thing more plainly:
Although we cannot guarantee internships for students, we will provide you with practical support and advice on how to find and secure your own internship position.
A January start costs four months more, for the same award
On the Advanced Practice route the start date changes the length of the course, and Teesside publishes this rather than hiding it. A January start runs a full two years across two summer breaks. A September or May start runs twenty months across one.
Same award, same £20,000. Four extra months of visa, rent and living costs, which for most people is the larger number. If you are choosing between January and September on this route, that is the thing to weigh.
The course page that sets out bothWhat Teesside does not say anywhere is what happens if you secure neither a vocational nor a research internship. Only the guarantee and the non-guarantee are published, so nobody should read the rest as settled.

Teesside publishes a separate entry page for India, and it names specific universities. That is rarer than it sounds.
The academic requirement, and the five universities
Minimum of 55% or CGPA 5.8/10 from a recognised Indian university; 50% or CGPA 5.5/10 minimum from the following universities: Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Jadavpur or Kolkata University
If you graduated from Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Jadavpur or Kolkata, Teesside asks five percentage points less of you than of everyone else. Most universities publish one number for the whole country, so it is worth checking your own institution against that list before you assume the higher bar applies.
English, and the route without IELTS
The standard for a taught masters is IELTS 6.0. Health courses ask for 6.5 to 7.0.
Teesside does publish a route that avoids IELTS for Indian applicants, built on qualifications you already hold at a stated grade. What our own note of that page does not carry is the full list of which qualifications and which grades, so this is a question to put to Teesside directly rather than something to assume you meet.

Neither the India page nor the international entry pages say anything about backlogs or failed papers. Nothing is published either way, so do not read the silence as acceptance.
What a week looks like
Teesside publishes no university-wide split between coursework and exams, and it does not pretend to.
What the course pages say is short enough to quote in full:
Assessment varies from module to module.
So the honest answer is that it depends on your modules, and the place to find it is your own course page rather than anything at university level.
One course does say it has no exams
MA Curating states its methods outright:
You are assessed through reports, presentations, project research and development work, presentations and visuals, there are no formal exams.
That course is not in the list above, which covers business, computing, engineering, law and psychology. It is here because it shows Teesside will state the answer when a course has one, not because it tells you anything about the twelve.
That course pageTwo of the twelve run only in September and January: Mechanical Engineering MSc and LLM Master of Laws. Everything else also starts in May. Teesside publishes no walking time from the railway or bus station to the campus, so the 3D map above is the better guide.

What nobody publishes
- QS World University Rankings 2026 position. topuniversities.com returned HTTP 403 Forbidden on every fetch attempt (the main profile page, /undergrad, /postgrad, and the 2026 rankings table with a Teesside search).
- Backlogs policy for Indian applicants. Not stated on the India country page, the international entry requirements page, or the English admissions page.
- Whether a Medium of Instruction letter is accepted in place of a language test.
- Whether a student who secures neither a vocational nor a research internship is refunded, moved to the one-year award, or required to repeat. Only the guarantee/non-guarantee distinction is published.
- A published institution-wide coursework vs exam percentage split at PGT level. Only per-course assessment descriptions exist.
- Exact walking distance or time from Middlesbrough railway or bus station to campus - the university publishes neither.
