WHAT THIS REFUSES TO DO

Some things will never be built here.

Written down in public, before anyone asks, so it can be held against this site later.

  1. It will not tell you which university to pick

No recommendations, no suggested shortlists, no reason lines under a university's name. A student in the research had her shortlist chosen for her by a lender that would only fund a set list. Another was pushed at one university by a consultancy tied to it. A list with reasons attached is the same machine with a friendlier face.

  2. It will not tell you whether you will get a job

That depends mostly on you, and no honest source can put a number on it for someone with your background from a particular campus. Anyone who gives you a percentage has made it up. Where this site refuses that question it also refuses to put something reassuring underneath the refusal, because a comforting substitute is how a refusal gets remembered as an answer.

  3. It will not soften a bad fact before telling you

No sentence that begins with a positive before delivering a negative. Every unflattering fact on this site arrives on its own, or not at all. That rule costs something and it is the point.

  4. It will not ask you anything before showing you anything

No background questions, no backlog count, no loan size, no co-applicant. That sequence of questions is a consultancy's intake interview, and asking it here would make this the same business with better manners.

  5. It will not ask you to make an account

Everything is readable without one. There is no login, no email capture, no newsletter, no gate on any page.

  6. It will not fill a gap with a guess

Where nobody publishes something, the page says so and names who would have to publish it. That is worse to read than a confident number and it is the only version that is true.

Where the numbers come from

This is the half about what will never be built. The other half is where every figure on the site actually comes from.
